Convert a file to PDF

Use PDFCreator on a Library PC, or download it for your own PC here. Instructions for a Mac are here.
With PDFCreator, you can either (1) use the print menu of the application displaying your file or (2) right click on the file's icon.

(1) While your file is open, choose file > print. From the print menu, choose PDFCreator. Click OK.

Fill in the Document Title and Author fields correctly.

Click Save. PDFCreator will convert your file to PDF and open it in a PDF viewer.

(2) Right click on a file's icon. Choose "Create PDF and Bitmap Files with PDFCreator.

You may be asked permission to set PDFCreator as the default printer. Click OK.

Print multiple pages per side (correctly):

Select file > print. Use the Page Scaling feature to select "Multiple pages per sheet" as below:

Some pages print upside-down:

In the Print dialog box, select the Properties button, go to the Finishing tab, and check "Flip Pages Up".

Having other printing problems? Try this...

Print to North_Ref PS or Reading_Rm PS    OR...

Save the file to the desktop. Right click the file, and choose to open with Foxit Reader (Windows) or Adobe Reader (Mac). Do a test print of a couple of pages before trying to print the whole document again.

Rotate Pages:

Clockwise: Shift+Ctrl+Plus    Counterclockwise: Shift+Ctrl+Minus

To add the rotation buttons to the toolbar, do the following:

Right-click on an empty area of the toolbar to get the toolbar menu. Click "More Tools..."


Scroll down until you see the Rotate options. Check both boxes. Click OK.


Now you can rotate pages with the click of a button!
